Dr. Michelle Oakley, a veterinarian in one of the most rugged environments on Earth. Making house calls in the far reaches of Northern Canada is a daunting task in the least, considering the houses may be separated by hundreds of miles. That challenge doesn&#39;t stop Dr. Michelle Oakley from performing her many duties as a veterinarian in one of the most rugged environments on Earth. In addition to running an animal clinic out of her home in Haines Junction, Yukon -- where she lives with husband Shane and their three daughters -- Dr. Oakley also operates a satellite clinic 150 miles away and is the on-call vet for the Yukon Wildlife Preserve, which is about 100 miles from Haines Junction. She also makes house calls, sometimes driving for long stretches through desolate wilderness to check on a patient.
